Classroom in Norfolk at Carleton Rode Primary school
Several schools with increasing numbers of students have expanded their capacity by adding a log cabin as an extra class room. This is an inexpensive way of adding space and the interior of
a log cabin is well suited as a classroom. The log cabin has good thermal values and is therefore an excellent room all year round. Carleton Primary School has added the 36 sq. meter log cabin just a few yards from the main building and playground so the children are still close to their friends and facilities. The log cabin is fire proofed and is used as an art class. Inside there is a large room and a hall and toilet.
After final confirmation was given by the school governors, finishing touches could be made to the requirements for Carleton rodes new classroom. Such a special project required meticulous planning and liaising with the school to design the perfect building. The classroom needed to be large enough for the budding
students and should be self sufficient with its own cloakroom facilities. During the build Nordic Wood’s construction team worked closely with plumbers and electricians to supply the classroom with the necessary services. A light atmosphere was important and this was achieved by the number of windows added to the cabin and the choices of finishes on the walls. As full project managers
Nordic Wood also supplied the wood treatment for the cabin both inside and out. The staff could choose from a vast array of colours of Norwegian quality and for everyone's piece of mind fire proofing was applied to the exterior.
The school relied on Nordic Wood’s experience and flexibility to provide the best possible design options for their project
and grounds. Carleton Rode primary school in Norfolk now have the extra space needed for a growing community and the children have a cosy and hygienic place to develop their skills. |
