Scantim ES/VFR Fire Retardant
The ES/VFR System offers a clear or white coating
Suitable for upgrading wood and wood related surfaces to comply with Class 0 and Class 1 of UK Building Regulations. The ES/VFR system is suitable for use over most substrates, including new timber, bamboo, chipboard, hardboard, MDF, melamine-faced board, veneerfaced non-fire rated MDF, etc. It can also be applied over existing paints and varnishes (see application details). Tested to BS476 Part 6 & 7. Average drying time from 20 minutes to 2 hours, dependent on substrate, temperature and humidity.
Fire Performance
The ES/VFR system has been tested on a number of substrates to satisfy BS 476 Parts 6 & 7 and Class 0 and Class 1 of the UK Building
Regulations.
Tested at BTTG Fire Technology Services March 2007.
The Coating has also been tested to comply with Classification B/S1/d0 of European Standard EN13501 Parts EN13823: 2002 single burn test (SBI) and EN11925-2 2002 ignitability.

Scantim HW Intumescent paint
The HW System offers a clear (HW02) or white (HW01) coating
Designed to upgrade new and existing timber substrates, offering up to 30 or 60 minutes of fire protection to meet UK Building Regulations for timber and timber related products, according to substrate, type of timber and thickness. Contact us for technical help and further information. The system can be applied on new substrates and over existing paint and varnishes. Tested to BS 476, Part 22 (1987)
Fire Performance
The HW range has been tested on a number of substrates to satisfy Class 0 and Class 1 of UK Building Regulations. It has also been tested to enhance the fire protection rating of wooden substrates, to achieve a fire resistance of 30 & 60 minutes integrity and insulation. It is also tested to 60 minutes integrity on loaded floor beams in wood. In addition to UK testing this coating system now complies with classification A1-B/S1/d0 of European Standard EN13501, Parts EN13823: 2002 single burn test (SBI) and EN11925-2 2002 ignitability.
