Kiln Drying
The Kiln drying process makes Nordic Pine even more stable. Kiln drying helps remove water and sap from the logs, and minimises any twisting, shrinking, or cracking that can occur with non-kiln dried logs.

Our support team provides complete technical assistance to new buyers starting with measuring your site, planning your chosen cabin, providing special blueprints, interior design, installation of services, delivery and building assistance or even a full package from plan to “key in the door” projects. Our experienced professionals are committed to making sure your purchase of a Nordic Wood Log Cabin is a pleasurable experience from start to finish.
Planning Permission
The owner is responsible for all building permits, space for the unloading of materials and temporary power for our tools and equipment. We can assist in applying for planning permission where this is required. |
Blueprints
All our log cabins include floor plans and plans of foundation detail, rafter layouts and all exterior and interior walls.
Building Your Log Cabin
If you want to build your cabin yourself, we provide detailed instructions for assembly of the walls, roof and floor. All timbers and beams are numbered according to the plans of walls, rafters and beams.
Insulation
Log Cabins are extremely energy efficient due to the large amount of wood used in their construction. Wood has been proven to be one of the best naturally occurring insulators known to man. In each square inch of wood there are thousands of tiny air pockets trapped in its cellular structure. These tiny pockets of air slow the transfer of heat through the log, keeping your cabin cosy in the winter and cool in the summer. In addition all of our cabins have, as a minimum, insulation in the floor, ceiling and around the fitted windows and doors. The insulated sub-floor system secures a warm feeling and maintains an energy efficient cabin. |
